My annual retreat to the beach for my TESOL conference.  A chance to catch up and catch my breath.  Also a chance to soak up the lovely sights and sounds of the beach...

To celebrate our 40th birthdays, my best girls and I shared a weekend together in New Orleans!!

Lots of quality time with family, and some special time exploring some spectacular mountain lakes...

In the garden...

Lots of flowers, a few ugly (though delicious) tomatoes, and our three new ladies (bringing our flock up to 7!).  Not much time spent out in the garden this year, but I am so glad I planted all those zinnias...

I can't seem to get my gardening groove on this year, but I did throw a few plants and seeds out there to fend for themselves!  It appears that things are growing and it is actually quite lovely in its own haphazard, wild sort of way...
