Morning light...

As the semester has become increasingly demanding, I've become somewhat less attached to the garden... though it continues to do it's thing!  And it continues to make me stop and admire just how lovely it is (even when neglected)...

Autumn...

This is such a busy and beautiful time of year.  We are back into the rhythm of school and the work of the semester is upon us.  The days are shorter and the shifting light is striking.  We're exploring the outside world as much as we can... parks, bike rides, neighborhood walks (picking flowers along the way)... simple pleasures.  Happy Fall Equinox!  

Fall is...

School, pumpkin beer, pumpkin bread, shorter days, cooler nights.  Most of all... golden brown leaves crunching under my feet and that gorgeous autumn light.

Peppers...

I've been so enamored with my sunflowers and cucumbers that I have not paid a bit of attention to our pepper plants.  They were somewhat slow to produce, but are now promising quite a harvest!  I'm hoping the weather will stay warm enough for them to ripen... I'm pretty sure that I planted orange peppers and perhaps one other variety, but only time will tell...

Almost autumn light...

The light this afternoon/evening was absolutely stunning.  It was the perfect way to usher in the weekend...

Grandma B...

I never did get a good shot of the party food... which is a shame because there was some really really tasty (and beautiful) food!  I did get this shot from the day after the party... a couple of my grandma's table cloths drying on the clothesline.  I was so happy to use them... they've been sitting in a box for years and years collecting dust.  They are old and a bit stained, but still so lovely!  The potluck seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring a little Grandma B back into our life!  She was quite a character and it made me smile to see a huge spread of food laid out on her linens!  I think she would have approved... and she certainly would have appreciated a strong gin and tonic (or two)!
