Cantaloupe!

I'm still amazed that we ended up with about half a dozen beautiful, juicy cantaloupes!  There were some issues with bugs, but I managed to harvest them before too much damage was done (few!!).  One or two are still on the vine so I'm hoping we get at least one more melon before too long.  I planted these guys earlier in the summer and completely left them to their own devices... neglected to fend for themselves.  I wonder what would have happened if I'd paid them the tiniest bit of attention?!  I'm just very pleased to have harvested a few... a very special treat in recent school lunches for sure!

Grateful...

Waiting for friends at the pond after school last week... we ate snacks, did homework, and snuggled for a bit.  It was dreamy and made me so grateful that I get to pick up my kiddos 3 or 4 times a week this semester.  Time to regroup, decompress, connect, and just "be"...

So how did that go?!

I set some goals for August so to keep myself motivated, here is my report...
  1. follow the 20 minutes per day cleaning regime (found here)... I'm really hoping to keep the house a little cleaner this year!  THIS HAS BEEN A TOTAL GAME CHANGER FOR ME... I HAVE MODIFIED THE LIST A BIT TO BETTER TARGET OUR PROBLEM AREAS AND MAKE IT TRULY 20-30 MINUTES EACH DAY BUT I AM SOLD ON THIS APPROACH... YAY FOR A SOMEWHAT CLEAN ABODE!!!
  2. wash and dry or fold and put away one load of laundry each day... see above!  OMG THIS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE... IT HAS REALLY BEEN THAT AWESOME!  WHEREAS BEFORE LAUNDRY WOULD PILE UP AND PILE UP (AND CAUSE A LOT OF STRESS)... NOW IT LITERALLY TAKES 5 MINUTES OF MY TIME.  I WASH/DRY IN THE EVENING AND THE NEXT MORNING I FOLD AND PUT STUFF AWAY BEFORE I EVEN MAKE IT DOWNSTAIRS.  STRESS AROUND LAUNDRY IS GONE... IT IS NOTHING SHORT OF MIRACULOUS!!!!
  3. go to the gym 2 times each week... this should not be very doable!!  I DID PRETTY WELL WITH THIS... ONE DAY A WEEK WAS ALWAYS ACCOMPLISHED AND MOST WEEKS I DID MAKE IT AT LEAST TWICE.
  4. do the 7 minute workout 3 times per week (found here)... I tried it out today and I really didn't expect it to be so intense (maybe I'm just really out of shape?!).  FAIL!  THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME AT ALL.  BUT AT LEAST I GAVE IT A SHOT.
  5. do the intermittent fast 2 times each week (found here)... we do this once a week around here so I just want to see how it goes when I do it twice each week (mostly to help break out of the vacation mode of stuffing my face all the live long day!).  THIS HAS GONE VERY WELL... I'M DEFINITELY GOING TO DO IT FOR SEPTEMBER AND WILL THEN LIKELY REDUCE BACK TO ONLY FASTING ONCE PER WEEK.
